I believe a great wine is a wine that impacts you.
Today I tasted 20 wines. The wine that stuck with me was the St. Cosme "Hominis Fides" 2008. This single vineyard Gigondas from the St. Cosme property haunted me all day. Created in an off vintage this wine sang from the nose to the palate to the finish.
8 hours later the wine was still singing. It was all I could think about. The complexety of the nose. The elegance and ethereal red berries intermingling with earth. It was amazing.
