Sometimes I pair dishes purposefully. Sometimes I just open whatever I have lying around the house.
Last night I came home from work and cooked a boneless Pork Chop with rice and broccoli. It was a very simple preparation. Salt, pepper, and a touch Soy then roasted in the oven.
The only white wine I had in my fridge was a Friulano that I had been meaning to taste. It was a great pairing. Everything went perfectly together and no thought whatsoever was put into the dish, the wine or the pairing.
I love the simple things in life.
